Simplify

For weeks I have been stressing about getting Miss K's birth announcments out. I updated my address book early in preparation. I surfed websites for announcments that would highlight my wee one best. I enlisted an amazing friend/photographer, Lillie, to take pix of Miss K. I picked my favorite three picture for the card (I just couldn't widdle it down any further). I then narrowed down the birth announcement cards to just three. And then I ran out of steam. Completely out of steam.

For over a week now I have been trying to get up the energy to get the announcements out and the idea of even buying stamps was just too much. I tried to guilt myself into motion. I did birth announcements for C so I have to do them for K, but then I remembered that C's master copy is still in a box, not enshrined in the elaborate first year photo album I envisioned. I then had a bad conscience over the fact that I may have missed alerting someone over the birth of my little peanut, but then reminded myself that I phoned, texted, emailed, blogged or FBed everyone I know about K's birth. I can't think of even one person who may not know about K or may not have seen her already (Oops, I just thought of one, I'll give her a call tomorrow). Then I rationalized that in these strained economic times it just seems excessive to send birth announcements. Finally, I decided I had had enough with my waffling and determined to put my energy into getting my photo wall up instead.

Without further ado, here are the best of my baby and her big sis too. I am truly sad that Miss K won't be gracing your refrigerator, but glad that I don't have to hold back these adorable pix anymore.

Cute cute cute! I can only imagine how much needs to be simplified when more factors come into the picture. Thanks for posting them on the blog at least. What fabulous pictures... I could see how hard it would be to narrow it down to just your favorite three.

Love them all. I'm glad I got to see a wall of pics instead of only three. Still, I can't wait to meet little K in person.

What wonderful pics. If it makes you feel better Jack never made it to anyone’s fridge. And I don’t think that the twins will make it these either, they'll survive. I can't believe hot cute your little K is. It has been forever since I have seen Clair and she is absolutely gorgeous, WOW! Those eyes are killer. You guys look great, such a sweet family.

WOW, they are beautiful! not the pictures but, well, I guess it is the pictures, because they capture the sweetness of these little sisters. They are beautiful.

Lillie did such a great job! I'm a fan of her work and have blog-spyed her before (friend of a friend... you know). You are looking so great, Tara, and your girls are A-DOR-A-BLE!!!

How on earth did you widdle it down? The second pic of her in the hat is maybe the cutest thing I have ever seen. If you did send out an announcement, it would have to be an album. too many to choose from. cute cute cute.
"Congrats on the birth of little K! She is beautiful and so is her mom and big sis. We are so happy for your family."
(that is what I would have said when I got the announcement)
I say simplify simplify simplify!

I love ALL the pictures! What adorable girls you have! Sorry, I have been checking your blog but haven't officially congratulated you on Kennedy's birth--what a terrible friend I am! I've just been a little off ever since we came back from Christmas vacation and haven't been doing much blog commenting. Anyway, you look great too! We miss you guys!

Cutest. Pictures. Ever. I think I have gone back to look them at 12 different times. K is beautiful, C is as cute as ever, and you, of course look gorgeous. How do you like that so quickly after having a baby? I don't get it. I think K looks exactly like you! Such a sweet little family. I am so happy for you all! xoxo

I thought that's what blogs were for...so you didn't have to feel guilty about not contacting all the people in your life--that everyone would know where you are and could come at their leisure. And if they want the pictures they can pick them off. (I took a couple of Clair) Blogs are awesome. Thanks for the opportunity to see you and your sweet girls.
