My girls are a little obsessed with their blankies. I definitely indulge them in this because I love them having a piece of home wherever they go. Here they are on our last road trip in the back of the truck--blankies in tow. Don't worry they didn't ride in the back of the truck, at least for long. I knew it was time for Kennedy to get her own blankie a few months ago when I would see her stealthily sneaking it away from Claire in the car as soon as Claire would fall asleep. Claire loves her blankie so much that the other day she woke up from a nightmare. When I asked her what the nightmare was about she said the bad guys were chasing her to get her blankie and when they finally grabbed the blanket, she held on to it with her teeth as they pulled. At this point she woke up. The dream was terrible, but I was glad that this was the worse thing she could come up with.

I LOVE that Ben is addicted to his blanky and he's 6. I think it's so endeering. Now maybe when he's 10 I won't think it so cute...we'll see?
I love your cute girlies!
I don't think it's about having "home wherever they go" as having MOM wherever they go. I encouraged my kids to have a comfort item for those times when you simply can't be it. Beau sucked on his blanket--very bad as he didnn't want it washed because then the wet spots left. You can't anticipate the problems these things will cause in the long run. It is about mother survival. And in the end we do and even laugh.
BAH! Redonkulous cuteness! Kennedy's little face! OMG! Too much. PS- I still have my baby blanket. I don't sleep with it, mind you... but I did... for waaaay longer than appropriate.
