Day 23

Since we can literally do anything we want to our place-I guess not anything, we do have a pretty tight budget but you get what I mean-I am feeling a little overwhelmed with the decisions. We are picking floors right now and know we want to do wood. My cousin suggested gray wood. I'd never seen it in person and never even thought about it but now I am a little obsessed with it. What do you think?

Oh Tara--- are you REALLY doing wood!??? I think I'll be too jealous to ever visit. I dream of the day I can really pick the details of my house and love them. I can't wait to see what you do. I would do wood in a heartbeat... I do think the color would be a big decision-- I used to think it was so simple-- go dark. Now I think light, white, gray--- there are so many beautiful options! Good luck.

I love the wood look with the wide planks. I think that is why we did wood looking tile. I love it. It is so easy to care for and everyone thinks it is wood. You could do the really big planks but they are just smaller in length. It comes in all the colors too. But, the real wood would be cool. The natural look is great. Good luck. I know, I know, so many decisions.

I've never heard of it either, but I like it. Rustic looking. Can't wait for pictures of the house!

I think it is beautiful! Nobody has wood in the desert, though. Not sure why. Maybe because tile is cool, and we need all the cool we can get. Also, i heard that all the sand here is hard on the wood when we track it in - like sandpaper. But if you get a rustic looking wood, I don't know if it would matter. You might want to look into it a bit more before doing it, though. I hope it works out great because it is beautiful!

Beautiful! Especially the wider planks. Our last home had the most beautiful hard wood floors(Jeff installed them) i miss that house. We were able to choose everything we wanted. Lived in it for 3 weeks, then moved here. Sad to leave it. O,well. Someday we can do that again. Can't wait to see your new place!

Thumbs up on this wood! If it inspires you at all, the April House Beautiful magazine is all about wood in homes. It's got some gorgeous ideas you might like!

DO it!

It is a really high end feature and it will add a touch of sophistication to everything in your home.

You have to be careful about what other woods you do with it though.

What are you doing on your cabinets?

Love it!! I love the chair too! :) We put our wood floors in and have never regretted it. They are beautiful and wear so well. Our floors are a lighter oak, but I love the grey and chocolate espresso floors. What did you decide? Dying to see pictures!!
