These Days

These days I spend a lot of time with my little ones. It constantly amazes me it is the really simple things they do, not the big milestones, that make me the happiest. To show you what I mean, here are ten vignette's that just made my day of late.

1. I love feeling Miss K's sleep smiles when I hold her cheek to cheek while she is snoozing.

2. I love that Claire's bedtime ritual includes tick-o's (tickles) and that in addition to Dave and I tickling her she likes to order Dave to "tick-o Mommy" and me to "tick-o Daddy".

3. I love that the day after we brought Kennedy home from the hospital that Claire dubbed her "Princess Fiona" from Shrek and then proclaimed herself "Princess Cinderella".

4. I love that Claire has started laughing when she hears adults laugh, even when I know that there is no way she understands or was even listening to the content of the joke.

5. I love that Claire looks forward to the "naked girl run" each night when she dashes around the house chanting "naked gurl, naked gurl", in the buff, right after her bath.

6. I love it that my favorite things about Kennedy are not that she sleeps well (which she does) and eats well (which she does, too). It just makes me feel like a get her a little more than that.

7. I love that Claire calls Santa, "Satan", Kookaburras, "Cookie Birds", birthday cake, "happy cake" (because what can be more happy than cake?) and that her favorite phrase is "moob it", move it from Madagascar 2.

8. I love that Baby K has rolls (plural, baby!) on her legs, arms and has a robust little belly. It makes me feel so proud that I helped her create her little curves. Having never experienced this with Miss Claire who was such a skinny little wee, I am taking great satisfaction in it.

9. I love that the other day when I thought Claire was attempting to steal Baby K's paci from her in the car that she was actually holding hands with her.

10. Finally, I love that there is this brief interlude post-nap when the girls are perfectly in sync-no one needs a diaper change, no one needs to eat or sleep, no one needs to be entertained and the three Thatcher ladies can just enjoy one another's company.

Great post Tara. Life's sweet with the little ones eh? I love the princess comment from Claire. A couple of cute ones you've got there.

Speaking of cute girls. Pictures. SOON. We must take pictures really SOON. We may have already lost that curled up, sleepy baby cooperation, but lets do it soon to catch as much as possible. What's her sleepiest time of day? Do you want to do it here or there?

Cute. Can't wait for Jack to have a little buddy to share good times with too. :)

Glad you have a little one with a belly this time around. I remember when you first held Jack at church and was caught off guard by his "curves". (ie. robust belly)

And I can relate, until this last month (when it has gotten too cold to run around naked), Jack, too, did a "Naked-boy Dash" from the bathroom to his bedroom after his bath. Love it!

Wish these kiddies were closer, so they could play together... and for me to see how juggling two little ones is done. I guess email is better than nothing... but it was so much fun comparing notes while on our walks.

what sweet girls!!! My mom leaves Wen. So I will try and get them copied for you. There are 13 DVDs do you want all of them or do you just want the Ab ripper? Our computer just crashed a few hours ago so Kyle needs to figure out how to fix it so he can burn the disc. Get Dave motivated to start. We want to do a Thatcher competition. Between couples before Hawaii. Paul and Nichole, Lee, Me and Kyle are in so far. Get Dave on board, along with Mark and Shari!!! The winners get something big, we just don't know what yet.

How is life with two kiddios?

Such sweet girls. Claire already looks so much older than she did two months ago and baby Kennedy is growing too fast! We're so glad you are enjoying being a mommy of two. There is nothing like it.

Such a great post. It looks like K is almost as big as C in the first picture!

It is so amazing how the little tikes step and and become such great helpers and older sisters. Claire and Kennedy are so sweet. Claire sounds like a riot (love the naked rhyme)!
